It is known there was a brewery behind what was the Lennox pub, originally the Railway Hotel, believed to have been started by the Carter family. The brewery has been referred to as the Railway Brewery but of course the railway didn't come to Worthing until the late 1840's whereas the brewery was in existence since at least 1820.
