Once the Robert the Bruce and
then the Claymore, the Cask Club was started as a members only bar mid way between
south street and Heene road on the sea front. The bar itself is
slightly below street level which helped to give it its exclusive
feel. It has one single bar and specialises in cask real ale. In 2011 it was re-named the Cellar Bar and is opened to all. The entrance is via Rioja's Wine Bar on the sea front and no longer by the more secretive side door in Prospect Place.
